Helping Hand

A 2 track balearic / downtempo ep (25m 14s) — released March 26th 2018 on Honest Electronics

Nayia Savva is a visual artist graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 2015. Alongside some solo exhibitions in 2012 and 2017 she is now running the new artist-led space DriveDrive in Nicosia, Cyprus with Raissa Angeli.

Arrbutus is the first official sound project by the visual artist Nayia Savva. "Helping Hand" was recorded during her stay last summer in New York. She reflected upon this new experience and state of mind on an iPad and a Mother-32. The outcome is a mindfully rough rhythmical execution cut in two mixes; "Helping" & "Hand".

While the setup is minimal, the spectrum of emotion in these mixes is large. On the first part the artist showcases new rhythmical ideas and challenges the physicality of her sound, while in the last part the focus shifts on the mental and emotional aspect.
